International Blues Challenge
at Chuey's

We Made It to the Finals!

Local band “Cool Fever” participated in the “International Blues Challenge” sponsored by the BLUSD (Blues Lovers United of San Diego). They participated at Chuey’s on Saturday, November 5th. There were two other competitions on October 22nd and October 23rd at Humphries and the “Belly Up Tavern”. A total of 16 bands competed with five going on to compete in the finals at the HOB (House of Blues) on November 19th from noon to 5 pm. Cool Fever consists of eight members with Locals Dave Elhoff, Trombone and Guitar and Sarah Elhoff on Vocals. Also with a local presence is Bass and Vocal man Big Slim, who works for Domino’s Pizza. Other members are Carlos “Lambchops” Serrano, Trumpet and Chuck Arcilla Sax, Dean Smith Congas, Randy Seol, Drummer and Jammin Joe Anderson lead guitar. The finals is on November 19th at the “House of Blues”, San Diego. The five bands competing are Michelle Lundeen and Blues Streak, 145th Street Band, Aunt Kizzy’s Boys, Cool Fever and Nitelife. Tickets are $10 at the door, and doors open at 11 am. Proceeds are to help send the winning band to Memphis, TN in January to compete with hundreds of bands from around the world in the International Blues Challenge.
